The State of the Union

How are we feeling today? Did everyone watch? Do we feel comfortable?

Hamas or humus??? It is a no-brainer...

We may have been optimistic about the Hamas. We live in a world of movies and popcorn and bones and fluffy dogs. We watch the Oscars instead of thinking about Oscar Levowitz being suicide-bombed....and I'm not making light of this situation...just don't want to think about it right now...maybe the world leaders will evoke their strength and settle things down...is it possible that the Palestinians are really bad people??? Or is it generations of hatred coming together and given a little power? The vote is power...

I digress: this is about movies. BBM is bound to be Hollywood's favorite b/c of the subject-matter; not Toby's favorite. I'm with Toby on this one. Walk the Line delivered 2 1st rate performances, and it's probably Toby's favorite, but it would be a really weak yr. for Reese to win. I'm still for Philip in Capote as BA. I am for Felicity H. even though I haven't seen her movie yet; she is an amazing actress and it's a breakout role...don't think Toby would agree...but, whatever...I'm not country all the time.

Rachel W. for BSA; Jake G. for BSA; Woody Allen for BScreenplay for Match Point. Best picture: it's a crap shoot. Crash is really making some waves in Hollywood right now and I did love the movie, but: Best Picture? No way...

Memoirs of a Geisha is a wrap for art awards, I think. Munich is a long-shot, but Steven should feel honored he was brought in the mix...it was a fantastic movie, but very controversal.

What am I missing??? Ang Lee for best director, and BBM for best pic. Maybe????

I would like to retract

I do believe Hamas is a woman fearing organization hell bent on Jihad. As a matter of fact they are. I thought they were more like the PLO. I was mistaken. What difference do it make? Well, maybe we shouldn't give them a whole lot of money.

The state of union address is coming. What will he won't say?

Movies: I like Capote and I liked Woody Allen's movie. I didn't see the BBM, but heard it was super. I'm not for Reese Witherspoon as best Actress, but then I didn't see her in that movie...

I'm playing online bingo.

Woody does Crime & Punishment

We saw Match Point last night and I would highly recommend it. It is a strong entry into the Woody-as-serious-auteur category and the new London locations have obviously livened Allen's spirits. Match Point is as smart as it is well-made, extremely enjoyable to watch and well worth the price of admission. Anyone? Anyone?
In other news the Oscar nods went out this morning. Will was THRILLED to watch them on E! this morning, let me tell you. No big surprises except for Terrence Howard for Hustle and Flow. Will and I watched this movie last weekend and neither of us hated it and his performance was Oscar worthy. Anyone have any thoughts on the other Oscar shout outs?

A clean slate

OK fellow bloggers, the fun is over and it's back to the daily grind ... I hope everyone has a wonderful week. The State of the Union is tomorrow night ... get the popcorn and candy ready and prepare to get down with the "W"!

I hope everyone has a nice weekend...

#########200########

How about that! 200 hundred Blogs. How many were tests? How many were quips? But then how many comments have we made? OH so Many!

What an archive! What a what a daily average! What is the Daily Average? It's been up for 3 months? I guess so. That's about 2.2222222222222222200 a day!!! And what we've learned about each other!!! And what we've hidden!!! And the surprising things! And the expected!

We do a list on these items:
Most surprising thing about each person.

Or we should have a Test. A Midterm! On the information in the Blog. Everyone submit 2 questions!

As for the photo thing, I love them, the photos! They're just so awsome. And I could have submitted so much worse than that lip! There were just horrible lips out there. But I realize there is something immoral about putting such a photo on the blog. I mean, it's immoral to the person who has the lip. I saw other photos that I thought just inappropriate... for the person who it was a photo of. It seemed they deserved some reverence: burnt people and birth defects and that sort of thing. Now if the person with the lip comes along and gives us a comment, that would be something. I mean, with a lip like that you might just google yourself... Like you might type in "m..e..g..a..n..".

it's because of my family that I do lead a lovely life!!!

pss-sst...

It takes courage to go up against you girls...let's just take a deep breath and regain our composure and sense of humor...

What's grosser than gross?

When bloggers have to be managed for content.

I'm not taking pics off the blog as I do not want to interfere with anyones right to free speach, but I have received comments from fellow bloggers that pics are getting out of hand. So, as is my management style, control yourselves!! Don't make me edit you!!! That will just irritate me.

For the record, I thought the one eyed cat was the grossest pic so far!

EDITTED

for those who dwell on dissorders..

I was shocked tonight when 2 of you were so disrespectful of me...a close family member...to leap into what you thought were some of my bad habits. These little foibles, as strange as they are (and, by the way, I noticed that you both sure had a grasp of all of them)do not qualify me as a dissordered person. But you did get a laugh at my expense...

I went to OCD.com and took the test, smarties, and I do not qualify in any way: I am not afraid of the letter D; I am not afraid of the number 13; I am not afraid of the sea or the color blue; I do not pick up scraps of anything; I do not clean anything continuously; I do not stay away from the color red; need I go on?

Maybe some of us are just a little different...note the picture above...who among us can say we are entirely normal? Not me, for sure...but can you?????

for future bad days...

forgot about this picture which I tried all week to upload...
it speaks volumes...we all just need a little
propping now and then.

Sue ... I loved your post about going out last night. How does it feel to be the most socially active one on the blog? You say that it was to soon but I just love the idea of you and a gentleman swinging around the dance floor to some western tunes, it sounds like fun! I love that you are out having fun at a club and Will and I sit in our totally silent house for hours and hours at a time reading ... I think that we may be ready for assisted living as your gearing up to be a club kid! Keep us posted!

just find me in the kitchen with Rover....

I've enjoyed the blog today...and, I haven't been able to view the pictures till now.I especially love the wonderful aray of gorgeous sandwiches or reasonable facsimile...they all look pretty sandwichy to me...and I'm a sandwich lover. When I go to a restaurant, the first thing I look at on the menu is the sandwich section. I believe you can tell the mettle of a spot based on what they consider sandwiches:for example...there is a wonderful restaurant in NYC called the Boxtree and they serve my favorite sandwich: the lobster club...which one can order any time of day. I think this put them on the map, altho all their food is good and even dad loved it.

Hamas: we'll wait and see...I agree with Bush's comment: In a Democracy, when the results of an election are this drastic, the people's message is: there needs to be a change. This is the way for the people to speak.

Jesse: Happy birthday!!

Megan: I like the dots. You're an able administrator. I'll check back with you though if I start getting hit-on by outsiders...

Katie: Are you really mentioned in the donut book??? Pretty cool. Can you come home in Feb. if I get a ticket? By the way, sorry that I mis-addressed the packages...my fault...I'll send the $$ to take a taxi to pick them up at UPS.What a bummer...

Michelle: a Mexican slave with quite extraordinary political beliefs...
h-mmm...Kristen was right...I've always felt that the Palestines were short-changed, even though I loved and believed in Exodus which was the most popular book of its time, and which promoted the idea that the parcelling of Palestine was the "miracle of sane thinking" in the post-WWII era.The Israelis also feel that it was their right to take land based on the Seven Days War. And the Palestinians don't think they should be punished for participating...A cunumdrum, for sure...don't know where it will all end.

BUT WILL! No suicide ... No virgins! Really I think that SB (suicide bombers) are more Western than they would like to admit. What do they want? Women, sex, luxury, heaven and they are willing to go to any lengths to get the quick fix? Anyway, you say that it is not as sloppy when no one gets hurt but just strategy wise the SB is going to be much more precise. I think your idea of not hurting anyone in a bomb is as charming as street brawls the only involve knives in the 50s.

FOGGOG

Well thank you Katie, and don't forget the cheetoes. And you know, I always threw on some salami, peperoni or the likes, tasty you know... Big fan of the olive loaf and Turkey Pastrami.

Pickles aren't necessary for the structure, niether is the 2nd topping, but the rest, give it a try. Sprouts just give a sandwich size without weight, and they're in a food category of their own that is essential for good health. People hardly ever get this deirivative of the food pyramid.

Hamas never really touched the notion of Jihad, they mainly want Zionists out of their land. Now it's all history and lot's of plane tickets have been paid for and the Jews are there, and everybody likes that little spot on earth, including the Christians, so Disney ought to get involved. I thinkl the whole place could be a theme park. There are beaches even.

Hamas is just like Sheindfien now. I mean, was the "terrorists" in Algeria who ended up taking over and having elections in 1972. Terrorism is not exaclty something one can be at war with. It is more or less a tool. I think we would probably use terrorism if Texas took us over, or, worse yet, if Arkansas did.

Think of how far reaching Arkansas is. How many employes does Walmart have? 2nd to the U.S. government? They are all revolving around Arkansas. Walmart has staging points from which to commence its onslaught.

One thing I don't understand is the movement of suicide bombing. It's so damn sloppy and deviant from good wholesome terrorism where nobody is hurt. It's much more admirable when something is destroyed and nobody is hurt... somehow. It's not exactly Ghandi like. What happened to Ghandi like movements?

I don't think Hamas is going to derail the process that Sheron started... speakign of that old guy, has he said anything yet?

Here is my mom teachin' me about the real situation in Israel

Will ... My mom raised me to be sympathetic to the Palestinians. Sure when I was a teenager I would argue the side of the Jews to her but then I grew up and realized she was right. (just my opinion) She asked me how I would feel if someone just came to our town and said that it really was theirs and we needed to work around them and their beliefs ... Well I can assure you that a 12 year old Michelle would not have been to happy about that! I have found in my circles this is not a very popular belief but as a Republican I am very used to that.
Katie ... that is SO not me in that picture. Here are the clues ...
1) the girl is in the kitchen
2) it appears that she has cooked something
3) it appears that she has handled major amounts of food
4) it seems that the food she prepared came from the market and not Quick Trip
5) her arms have never met a rep in their lives
In other news ... K - you are learning from the best ... I have never tried one of Wills sandwhiches but they always look and smell amazing. We have a friend Paul who will just drop out of the blue by hoping and praying that Will is making sandwhiches and he can have one.

Not Technically sandwiches

While these items may be tasty, they are not technically sandwiches despite the european tendancy to call them such.

Also, Butter and ham is not technically a sandwich, as it is the french seem to think, it is not even so good. A sandwich must be closed on both sides by bread and must have three ingredients, making a menagerie of flavor.

I Like Sandwiches so much!

So you gotta start with your healthy bread: heavy wheat or rye. Rye makes for a good smaller sandwich, but I have stacked rye high!

Put on a bed of lettuce, red or romaine, they're better and healthier, or even spinach, because the lettuce is there for health and crunch. As for taste it's only a minor ingredient amongst a whole host of more potent ones. It also protects the bread from the honey mustard.

Now there are two places in the sandwich reserved for your runny ingredients and on top of the lettuce is one. Squirt on the honey mustard! Good tasty mustard of any kind is the best.

Put on your turkey... see, the turkey traps the mustard against the lettuce.

Then put on your SPROUTS. Oh yeah, a serious requirement for health and crunch and the same mild amount of vegie taste that the lettuce gives.

Put on your second runny ingredient: Ranch (full flavored) or another dressing.

Top the ranch with Honey roasted sunflower seeds! They get glued into the ranch and sprouts. This is high technology here!

Then the stacker pickles! Dill, Kosher, I never could tell the difference in a bite, but they really are essential to the full flavor. They are a big ingredient.

Then Cheese. Your choice. It traps all that taste and protects the bread from the pickle juice.

Note: some of these items can be rearranged. Like, you might want to put on the second topping at the meat/sprout layer rather than on top of the sprouts, in order that it's a little further away from the pickles, but trap the coating with the sprouts.

And another note: do not put the cheese and meat next to one another. In a simpler sandwich you should at least put the lettuce between the cheese and meat. The reason for this note is that the cheese and meat become enmeshed when they are next to one another and don't allow the full flavor of each ingredient to be completely released.

Now, I used to put two types of meat and two types of cheese on my sandwiches. Not anymore. No need.

I used to shop nothing but delis and I know the question you were asking, Indie. When I ate nothing but sandwiches, my most perishable resource were the sprouts. Turkey goes a lot quicker than any other meat. What I did was make a run about every three to four days. Now I was buying 3 cheeses and 3 meats a lot of times and getting a hefty amount of each 3/4lb. I loved the mesquite turkey, but then it did start to get slimy after 5 days.

Ramping up requires a $20 investment in Mustard (you have), some sunflower seeds, sprouts (about 4 days worth) (I never purchased 2 things of sprouts unless James was around)(they get slimy too after some days... and I always pick from the back of the grocery store stock because the store will let them go soggy too, and that was always depressing to get a bad batch), stacker pickles, bread (Sometimes I'd buy two loaves, you could easily stick to one per or every other shop).

These go great with MILK.

Of course, on the road I knew exactly how much a sandwich cost, how much ingredients cost per sandwich, etc.

Good way to go. Olives! Feta in the sprouts, trapped perfectly. I never did tomatoes, too runny and thick.

Hamas: Jihad's Gun or Freedom Fighter

I think Hamas gaining the majority of the Palestinian parliament raises a particular question to new heights: are they a terrorist organization or are they fighting for their land? Are the Palestinians majority terrorist or are do they want some liberties?
Hamas is in power.

I know it's been standard practice to say that they're terrorists for decades, but they've always contended that they were fighting for freedom.

I think it is safe to say that if you believe in Armageddon or the Book of Revelation today's events might have me packing my bags and looking up to the sky. (Now there is a FOURS question ... It's the Second Coming ... what's in your suitcase?) However, if you err on the side of logic I think it's just going to be an even bumpier ride from here on out ... hold on. Honestly, I can't believe this ...

I have been playing with Settings.

Is that good or creepy?

over that hurdle...

well, I went out tonight with friends for dinner at Wild Fork. They all wanted to go dancing at a place at 18th & Boston and there was a country band from Nashville playing and a guy asked me to dance and we danced and danced. I finally was so sick I snuck out...not ready for that yet...funny, isn't it?

In the meantime: Will..love your latest fours...very general though...but that's OK.

Plan to be at all the scout events. Think I will enjoy them more than dancing, even though I'll drive 100 miles to be there. Did you know that my car gets 1 mile to the gallon? The only benefit to that is that I know exactly how many miles I've driven based on the price of gas...1 mile = $1.23. Not that I'm complaining...my eyes were wide open when I bought this capitalistic pig. Oink...

Next fours must be political. I already have the list. I want to find out how you all sit...hahahaha....

Katie, if you have J.'s address...please share. Or are you a bit nervous about this rambunctious group? No need to be...we are all honorable adults who will not kick the man when he's down...now, if he were a member of the family, a different story...but, since he is to be treated kindly, we know how to be kind (note: Tony Shambrook).

I already know what I want for my birthday: 2 things...everyone at the lake...and a night at a country/western bar....

Love you all....

Um, I think something has been mandated. My entry window had the above statement written in it.

Katie, Starbucks as a hang it is pleasant.
I don't remember Penn.
Slobo, you should donate a lot more then $27 a month to Bosnia-Herzgonvina after making such a mess there.
Recipe looks good Katie... a good staple.
Does this all mean the Cubscout season is in grand finale mode?, or is it going to get a second wind?

My four mores:
Trips: Cuba, Coat of Bulgaria, Italy, All the trips mom mentioned, all those ski trips and the Philpines and Thailand indeed, and Bali, the Bahamas and, honestly, I can't think of a real bad trip.

Meals: I like meals and eating and there have been so many.

Best Parties: Parties in Highschool, Parties in College, Parties around the country and the world, in front of campfires, at Avery drive, here in Tulsa of course, House parties. Anyplace with a Billy Crystal impersonator. Those guys are great. Shadow puppets always make for a party.

Holidays: Any time. Summer Holiday.

Best Pets: The current dogs. Smudge, edgar and sofie.

Best Friends: Darius Hungus, Darin Nichols, Gui Gui, Toshi, Hannas, Miruna and Tim, A bunch of crazy people

Megan ... I think that as the administrator you can go in to the settings page and change it so that the comments will show up on the same page as the blog ...

there goes another one ...

Did you guys hear that Chris Penn (brother of Sean) was found dead yesterday? Damn ... I loved that kid especially in R. Dogs. They are saying there was no foul play so I think most assume drugs at this point but who knows ...
Yeah Sue .... that whole Katie Holmes thing is just strange from the word go ... she really does not seem right. I am certain that she will wake up in about five years and wonder ware her career and identity went. I am pretty indifferent on Tom Cruise but it does seem that to a younger girl he could be pretty charismatic.

lots of issues...

thanks, Michelle, you're right about the pics...

what do you-all think of Katie Holmes and her ever-changing stomach? Is it just the camera angles? Sometimes she seems bigger...and sometimes very small...and based on what we have heard about the "arrangement", it seems like it may be a hoax!!!!!!!!!!
Is it possible that Tom C. has such an ego that he thinks we don't know about his fake girlfriend? and maybe fake baby? He's like Richard Nixon...caught up in a power vacuum...so out of touch that he believes the public has no clue...........

in the meantime...did you read that Sienna M. had an abortion? She was pretty mad at him it seems........

Bush refuses to see Brokeback.............the controversy is endless....

I went to your website, Michelle. Love that organization. Looks like they are doing some good. I will sponsor...I've been looking for a group that is helping in those sad places.

Ladies ... I wanted to make you aware of an organization that I think is well worth your support. It is called Woman for Woman and it supports women in war torn countries. I have sponsored a woman in Bosnia/Herzegovina thru this program for over a year and it has been very rewarding. When you sign up you pick three countries that you are interested in helping. Then you and a woman in one of those countries are paired up. You learn about your woman and what she spends your money on in letters that Woman for Woman or your woman writes to you. For example mine spends her money on medicine for her family that she can not afford. It is cool b/c if you are married they hook you up with someone who is your age and married .... if your single you will get someone who is single. It is only 27 bucks a month and it is a great way to really see a difference being made in someone's life. The woman must take job training classes while they participate in this program. My year with my current woman is almost up and I will get a new one in a new county which I am trying for Rwanda or Iraq. Anyway ... It is such a worthy program that I wanted to make you aware. If you don't want to do a monthly thing you can go to the web site to buy items made by women in war torn countries. I have given the jewelry made from women in Rwanda as a gift and they are really beautiful. If your interested visit: womanforwoman.org

Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

"When I went to bed Nick took back the pillow he said I could keep and the Mickey Mouse night light burned out and I bit my tongue.

The cat wants to sleep with Anthony, not with me.

It has been a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day.

My mom says some days are like that.

Even in Australia."

Above are last two pages of the book. I bought it for the boys and they love it. There is a very appropriately named mean older brother (Nick).

Just Asking your opinion

ok ... to those of you who read Page Six your input would be greatly appreciated! I am thinking that the middle one is Sharon Stone but any ideas on the first one and the last one?

Just Asking
January 23, 2006 -- WHICH model-actress-whatever has some problems in the hygiene department? Famous for showing flesh and flashing smiles at all the chicest parties, this downtown wild child has a certain scent about her. Snotty scenesters blame it on her foreign upbringing, but she was raised here in the city . . . WHICH aging actress who claims that her strangely youthful face has been untouched by a surgeon's scalpel practically has a house account at a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon's office? . . . WHICH A-list actress who is having trouble getting pregnant might have her mild case of anorexia to blame?

Katie ... when I heard about West Wing you were the first person I thought of .... when it rains it pours that is for sure. The first day of getting used to a new situation is always so awkward ...
I am trying to remember how the Alexander book ended and I think as he went to bed he was looking forward to the next day b/c it might be better ... does anyone remember?

Jack Dunphy was a dancer and a writer who never really wrote anything of note but you can still pick up some of his work and I am always meaning to read something of his. I think that he wrote a book about his life with Capote which would also be interesting.
Megan - that just sucks! I swear to God I think people should be taught when they are in elementary school how to behave in a movie theater. I don't take spending 8 bucks (even more in NYC) on a ticket only to have some jerk talk thru out the movie. One time after a movie was over my dad turned around to the people seating behind us and said, "I am not really sure what this movie was about but I sure do know everything that is going on between you two." I wish I had what it takes to say something like that but this strange polite formality takes over when I am in a movie theater. However - I feel your pain. Honestly, it is what makes me watch most films at home with Netflix. If I was in a pageant that would be my platform issue ...
Sue - I LOVE your new FOURS question .. I think we should proceed with answering them myself ....

Biggest Pet Peeves...............

Jesse and I have just been hanging these last two weekends and it has been so wonderful. We saw Capote on Sunday and agree that it was excellent. What a compelling story. Question: Who is the Jack that was Capote's lover?

Biggest Pet Peeve: Capote was playing in a small theater at AMC and as it has been out for awhile we thought we would pretty much have that theater to ourselves. It filled up and then 10 minutes after the movie had started (movie not previews) a movie club walked in talking coughing laughing, etc at fully audible level. They kept coming like clowns out of a clown car into the theater and up the stairs to find a seat and it was distracting. Then, I truly believe a statistical anomoly took place in that of the 50 people in the theater about 1/2 had to use the bathroom during the movie. And of those 1/2 about a quarter of them had to go twice and then there were the cellophane rappers and the people shelling nuts and rustling their winter coats. It was about enough to drive a person crazy. Thus the pet peeve topic.

Can't seem to stop...

This kitty is just too funny... Sunday nights find me on I-44 East, headed for home...after a restful weekend of movie-watching. War of the Worlds, Bunches of Flowers (Bill Murray??), Red Eye, Must Love Dogs. Red Eye was the best, by far. Must Love Dogs was so pitiful...the Bill Murray one was tedious with a puzzling ending.

Last night I watched Bleak House, a very dark mini-series on BBC. It's Charles Dicken's, so you can be sure it's full of sadness and dirty deeds.

I was so happy that you suggested a new "fours" exercise, SM. Let's use:

best trips taken
best meals in our lives and where they were eaten
best parties
best presents
favorite holidays
best pets
best airline flight
best play...Broadway or otherwise
best dates
best friends we haven't seen in years
Best relative, other than us
funniest incident

How's that? Please feel free to edit...is it too long?

... On a Sunday night

Michelle: It's Sunday night ... Do you have rituals on Sunday night? If so, what are they? Will and I keep pretty busy on the weekends but then Sunday night at 6 we get in to bed and watch 60 Min followed by whatever HBO is dictating that we watch at the moment or a movie/documentary. Tonight we are all in bed (Will, me, Attie and Champ) watching The The Battle of Algiers. It is supposedly an important film that the pentagon considers required viewing as the similarities to our current situation are great.
Will: Now we're watching the L word. It's really sad tonight, about female lobsters and how they kill each other in pots of boiling water. I don't think that's true.
What kind of Drinks did you buy Jordan, Katie?
The Glory, did you see this movie, Jesse? I saw the Arkansan on the Daily show.
I watched Ali fights this weekend. Fighting used to be a bit bouncier and more unpredictable.
Algerian win. They have a lot of oil you know. Seems like we all like oil.
Tried to burn some gas. Rearranged the furniture a little and did burn a little gas but just to see if the heater in the front room works and it does. I saw dollar signs going up... I wanted to burn off the gas in the pipe and shut the valve, eliminating any gas in the fireplace. Then we'll burn wood there. But it didn't really work. I capped off the pipe but there's still gas in there which means that the main valve isn't closing all the way or something. But it's not really that cold right now. Winter has only begun though.

It's Saturday night .... Do you know where your janitor is?

Last night Will and I watched the documentary grizzly Man. If you were thinking about checking this out I would urge you to skip it. I did not even know it was possible to hate a documentary b/c even if it is not well made the topic usually is of note. But no ... This was just bad, bad, bad.
Does anyone want to come up with a new set of FOURS questions?
Thank you for the shout out to your little Mexican who was cleaning this morning ... Yes, we were all working and what ... Were you doing??
It is Saturday night ... What is everyone doing? Will is out with Kevin over at Jonas (sp?) with Wade. I am at home working on my personal evaluation b/c I have my work review on Monday. Do you guys have the personal evaluation part of your work reviews? It is so odd to be writing page after page what a rad worker you are.

Fat Elves

I'm blogging while the elfs and the lone mexican are at the office working on the computers and mopping the floor, respectively. Has Ken Hood ever reminded anybody of an elf? He's an American Elf: he has more pounds on average than the Scottish elves.

Reese Wither Spoon is a swimmer, or else she's gaining weight on her shoulders. Tough girl, wearing metal. I certainly don't mind tough shoulders.

Pretty Mexican maid:

Snuffleupogus certainly looks like you Katie, without the snout... I mean your snout is bigger by far.A story of true American Spirit. A war story to be compared to the way wars were once faught, with plunder in the eyes of the soldier. Bring home the plunder! The gold. Wether it be gold or memories or pride or friendship, Jordan will have this experience. You know, a great remake for eastwood would be a followup of where these soldiers from Kelly's Heroes are today... Mostly in Florida I bet. But it would really add to the whole euphoric feel of how this story ends. What did they do with their riches? What did Roman centerions do with their plunder? Some became rich merchants and others were land owners that could not see the ends of their property without 5 days journey.

couldn't resist...

And who says we're not in good hands???

This is for Jordan...

see...it's not hard to find a Marine-loving kitty......Katie, give Jordan our love and ask him if it's OK to write... have fun on the double-date...

what I think...

I think we should all be friends ...

I think we can have the best of all worlds on this blog. We should discuss any subject that piques our fancy...as long as we find a picture of it that includes dogs or cats. As for me: I'm currently in a Marines mode, so it was important to include the furry friends as they lead their men into enemy territory...I've searched and searched for kittens & Marines and won't stop till I find one.

OK ... Will tells me that no one on the blog likes the dog topic so I will try to keep it on the DL as much as I can from here on out but for the love of pete just LOOK at this:

the answer to what Will will be doing on his time off from work

memories...

I distinctly remember a babysitter you had when you were very young who resembled Snuffy....are you having flashbacks, Katie?

I agree about Reese and the dress...and the other thing that's drawn a lot of attention is that Ryan P. was sticking so close to her side at the GG's. Nasty comments about his not wanting to end up like Chad Lowe...the Hollywood press is so evil...

I like Reese...

I think it is a ridiculous dress...altho I think Reese carries it off...but to have the metal close to the chest etc. would seem uncomfortable and then there's the cinched waist...and the bell shaped skirt...not to mention the stark white taffeta...probably wouldn't have thought a thing about it if it weren't for all the attention.

I'll bet she won't put on just anything for future award shows..."vintage" or whatever...what do you want to bet she attends the Oscars in slinky black???

Jesse: thank you for posting. Did you find out if Nolan R. played for Coach H. that first yr. or before or after?

Will...how could you "enlist" to stay in Tulsa for 2 weeks and not come to CCM? It seems almost un-American (see above) to me...we all serve in our own way...is your "escape" an "R & R"? Just don't go "AWOL" on us. We'll think you are "MIA" or maybe you've been taken as a "POW". And we'll sure be happy when you return to "duty"...you should be decorated for your past heroics...

The above comments do not necessarily represent the ideas of all...just me...

Reese Fo Sho

Only because Kirsten Dunst looks really pasty in that pic. Actually she prob. looks more like June Carter in that pic than Reese did in the movie.

Anyhow, I'm with you Michelle. I don't think this is a particularly flattering dress at all. Bland. I too was surprised it was from Chanel. In general, though I think it is difficult to pull of the short, fitted empire waste gown without looking out of proportion.

And as proof that this blog talks about every subject under the sun .... who do you think this average dress looked better on ... to tell you the truth I was shocked that this was from Channel couture as I usually LOVE their creations ... but any-whoooo
shall we vote for a winner?

I know that there are much more important things to discuss like elder porn but humor me?
