RUMP?

Will said this in his sleep last night:
"Clearly .... she has been working on her rump."
Who, may I ask uses the word RUMP, much less in their sleep? I tried asking some questions after he said this but I got nothing. He does not remember what he was dreaming about but one can only imagine ... my oh my ....

Netflix alert!

Will and I watched History of Violence last night. It was the best movie I have seen in a very long time. It has stayed with me and I have been thinking about it since we saw it. Has anyone seen it? I would strongly urge it as a Netflix option. Let me know who has seen it so we can chit chat about it ... I would love to hear what you had to say.

on the other hand...

American Marines have bigger loads.....

Ukranian Marines like flowers

I'm pretty confused but I think we're celebrating Worldwide Marine Day...and, it's funny, but Ukrainian Marines look just like American Marines...except for Jordan, who looks better than any of them...and Ukranian Marines like flowers.

Anyway...I'm happy today b/c Jordan will be in NYC with Katie next week, he made it through OCS training, he can laugh at adversity, Katie is now 24 yrs. old and amazing in her own right, CCM has some sort of an agreement with the Ukranians, Megan & Jesse survived Spring Break, it's sunny and bright today, and tomorrow I will be sober 1 mon. Yay!!!

Ukrainian Marines

MEgan does like to shake hands with customers. I think it's a good tradition. An important one. Makarov and Megan shook hands. We all drank vodka. The work has begun. The contract requires a hammer, then we make a machine.

Machine/marine. marine machine. Marching man goes marine machine. Well, it sounds good. He looks like a General.

I think you'll be discovered...

Truly, you have no idea who reads the NY Times...I'm sure someone who sees your beautiful profile will want to make a star out of you.

Katie ... this is so beyond awsome!!!! Tell me ... were any of the Miller Sisters there? I LOVED Soraya Silchenstedt's dress ... did you see it up-close? Do tell about the evening ... I have always wondered what happens at those events.

Leave it to ...

Leave it to my idol, Angie to make pregnancy look amazing. She has gotten some bad press for flying as far along as she is but I think that it's great and that she knows what she is doing. I think that she looks wonderful but it is a touch strange that she is almost thinner than before she was in the family way, how is that even possible? I think it is living in France ... French women make anything look chic ...

I thought Jessica was going to be here...

Poor Bush...can't even get Jessica to see him...he must really be a looser....oh yes, he is...................

I just saw "Of Human Bondage" which was also a play done as a movie with Kevin Branaugh and Emma Thompson, ordinarily my favorite actors. But it was just terrible. I returned "Proof" this am. I agree with you, Michelle. What was the point? She did it and couldn't remember she did it and her sister and Jake didn't think she did it and, if you did it wouldn't you remember you did it? Pointless. Did you watch John Madden's talk? So estoteric...he thought it was a great idea to do the play as a movie...do you think 100 people saw it?

I like it when you post Jordan pics b/c I can't imagine what his life is like now, it's nice to see him in action. I tried watching Proof tonight ... has anyone seen it? I would be interested in hearing what you thought. I know it was a play and sometimes I think that is hard to bring to the screen. I had a hard time staying with it b/c I just did not care about the characters but I thought that the premise was very good and I would have liked to see Gwenyth do the play in London. Will has Touch of Evil and I have a doc about Deep Throat ... what do you guys have right now? I am excited about seeing Thank You for Smoking opening this weekend.

scorched earth

The sad story of our lot on Troost is that they have cut down all the trees. It's the most pitiful sight...everyone is in mourning...I wanted to warn you...don't go by there.

Katie, only ocasionally do I have a problem seeing the print...

Will is well...so he'll be back to his old tricks again.....but we are all happy, we hate to have you sickly...

Will is sick. Will is never sick .... but he is now. In June I will have known Will for 5 years (it seems like 2) and besides a small cold here and there he has been the picture of health. It's so sad but he looks so cute.

Tuesday, March 14, 2006

let's hear it for the boy...

Good pictures, Katie. He sure does look happy, altho I think it's b/c you're there with him. Give him our love and let me know what kind of graduation gift we can give him as a family. I want pictures of him in his uniform.

AEP/PSO Spam Desk

I wanted to update anyone interested in the AEP Help Desk. Indie, to debrief you quickly, when we changed our phone number we soon realized that we had the same number of the AEP help desk. This was an internal help desk dealing primarily with technical problems of the employees. Employees would call us and ask if we were the help desk and we would say they have the wrong number. I wish I could say that we were responsible and called and informed them and the calls ceased. Alas, we did not. Probably because we didn't know who to call and explain, "We aren't the help desk." We needed the number to the help desk ourselves.
Anyway, I decided that we might start answering, "Help Desk." Caller ID helped out. I started learning a little about what the poor AEP employees were going through with pagers not working, trying to log in to the network while in the field, trying to file payments, etc. Well, they aren't calling anymore, for some reason. Maybe it's because someone who needed my help didn't get the kind of assistance they deserved. The last woman who called needed tech support to get customer payments into the system. They just weren't going in right. I answered, "Help Desk," in kind of a nasally, half-hearted manner. I told her the problem was "standard", "typical", and then asked, "Where are you located?" "Which server are you on?" It had to be obvious I didn't know what I was doing. One time, a guy in the "field", asked of rthe password. I told him everything was messed up and that I'd give him a temporary password: "7768". He said, "That'll work?" I said, "It should." Of course, that's a little too half-hearted for a guy in the "field". Poor guy. He said, "Well, what happens when I need to log on tomorrow?" "Well, if we're back up tomorrow, you'll have to call in again." "Uh, ok." Now, the lady who called last week didn't feel like I-- I forget the name I gave her but she wrote it down, I spelt it even-- was going to get the job done. I told her that the issue would be solved by the morning. I said that I was leaving soon but that the night shift would get on it and that they knew what to do. She said, "The night shift..." "Yeah, they already know the problem and I'll leave a note." "So you, ... , are saying that the Night shift will resolve the problem by the morning." "Well, it's not that big of a deal, just some links and addresses in the system, so it will probably be early evening." "Ok." Then she called again. I said, "Help Desk." She explained, slowly, amazed for some reason, her problem, and I said, "Didn't I just talk to you?" "Uh, yeah. So the night shift is going to fix it?" "Yeah. I gotta run. End of the day." "Ok, I, well, to be honest I didn't really beleave you." "Oh, that's weird." "Well it just sounded kinda fishy to me." "Well, we're kinda fishy down here at the help desk." "Hmm. Ok, well I'll wait until tomorrow."

It's nothing to be proud of. But we haven't had another call. I think it was as good as telling someone. Plus, it was a little fun too. Poor people. I was being the spam desk.

I most certainly did not!

I did not put all that spam in the comments.
And I did not Kill Milosevic (but I was there when he was voted out) (I didn't vote because I knew it might hurt my future candiduncy)
Did anyone see how many votes it takes to become a city council member in Tulsa? Not many. For all the candidates, both republican and democrat, in our district, district 4, there were 6,000 votes. The democrate totaled 600 more votes than did the Repubes. To me it's all very interesting. To me, it doesn't seem like 6000 total votes is much, especially when it really only takes 1,400 votes to take the primary and 3,001 to take the seat. I could grass roots that like a mad man. I think the Grass roots job is the way to go. It makes me wonder how many houses are in district 4.
I do not mess with Champ... when he's in his crate.
I watched some of the Oscars too and then we watched man in Black and I'll tell you what, Witherspoon should not have won in my opinion. It's not that it wasn't a good performance so much, as it wasn't but a time crammed sequence of events that she had to rush through. And ultimately, I think the academy was voting for the Character, June Carter. That said, I think Carter seemed like an amazing person and I enjoyed knowing things that I didn't know about Cash, which was a lot considering I do like listening to him.
Now in the case of Truman, I think it was very well deserved. It was a different type of movie though. His character was amazing, Truman was, but more than this, it was an extraordinary accomplishment to pull it off. It was a story about a particular time and not a extra condenced version of the whole of someone's life.

Jamie Fox won for "Ray" last year in a veryh similar case. I never saw Ray. I would tend to believe that he, Ray himself, was an amzing figure-- seems like it-- but I question the movie. I never saw it, like I said. Could it be that Ray himself won, or was it Jamie?

Otherwise, I don't remember too much about the dresses and speeches, although there seemed to be that same problem with multiple people winning and one person taking up all the time, the time that not one of those other bunnies is going to get again. I liked the Introduction to Robert Altman, by Lilly Tomlin and Meryl Street. That was certainly the best part of the show for me.

Miles Davis was inducted into the Rock'n'Roll hall of Fame today, as well as some Sex Pistols and other folks.

how was the weekend, Katie?

Can you fill us in? And when is graduation. My friend told me last night that it's the coolest ceremony in the world and I should go see it...what do you think?

LOOK at what I found under Champs bed this morning! And we always thought he was gay ... I guess it is Kimora Lee Simons so chances are still great. Looks like our boy is growing up!

Every woman adores a Fascist ..

"Because I could not stop for Death --
He kindly stopped for me --
The carriage held but just ourselves
And immortality."
-Emily Dickinson
They found my namesake dead in his cell this morning. Both of his parents killed themselves so I think chances are great that he did the same.

did someone mess up our blog???????

Yay Kathy!!!!!

Are we happy with the results?

I only watched part of the Oscars....

Best Dress: I too am a fan of Michelle William's ensemble. I also liked Felicity Huffman's dress. She is so buff, she looks great in clothes.

Worst Dress: Nicole Kidman. Blech. I tried on and cast aside wedding dresses that looked like that. Wasn't too impressed with Reese's dress. Blah. I liked J. Lo's green dress.

Most Excited about: I think Rachel Weiz is always the picture of elegance, so it was nice that she won although I didn't see her movie.

Worst Presenter: I couldn't watch Lauren Bacall's speech regarding Film Noir. It was so painful. It was like watching Womens' figure skating at the olympics, which I do not do. Too much pressure. I think Lauren may have made the leap in the last year from with-it film legand to frail elderly lady.

I agree that Clooney's speech was flip.

I really thought PCH was great in Capote but I also thought that Heath Ledger was superb as Ennis, so I am disappointed for Heath but not that PCH won? You know. The three standout performances this year for a male, PCH, HL and JP were all really good. I think if any of them had won I would have been glad.

Although I did not see Transamerica yet, I have heard that FH's performance was awesome so I kind of wish she would have won. I watched Just Like Heaven this weekend b/c I luv Mark Ruffalo but Reese's performance was sucky and bitchy. But the movie was stupid, so maybe I shouldn't blame her. Anyhow I think she did a good job in Walk the Line and probably went about as deep as is possible for her.

Get it on!

Get it on shockacon! All those Marines! Oh BOY... and I mean BOYS, everywhere! Jordan is thinking, "Enough with the 'I send my love!' Get your love down HERE, at ATTENTION!"

I have a feeling Jordan is going to be very pleased that you are visiting Katie...

drive safely...

Say hi to Jordan for us. I'll be thinking about you this weekend. Please call when you get home...who'll be watching the world for us?

The Netflix Blues

If I were a blues singer I would write a tune today called The Netflix Blues. Much like the DVR, Will has caught on to Netflix. So not only can I watch AFV or How It's Made any time I want to but ohhh the films we get. I like to have docs at the house every weekend when we have the time to watch them. Something I have noticed with Will's choices is that they are so far out we never watch them. Oh! and my latest joy is that he has saved a 6 DVD series of a russian miniseries so thats it ... that is it that all we have. I am going to give this series a chance this weekend but I wonder if it is unheard of to have two Netflix accounts in one house. One will have docs that we acually enjoy and watch and the other well .... you know. It must be said here that Will is the most awsome human being ever sent to earth but I get the feeling when he is selecting DVDs on Netflix "Would this be enjoyable to watch" is not a question he asks himself. I hope everyone has a good weekend ... I know how mine will be spend mine: смотрение российских кино со стариком
cheers!
katie ,,, have you seen Grey Gardens?

Like your sleeping in the trees ...

That is a great shot of Chris Martin ... man, is that guy limber or what? He clearly does his yoga along with the missus. Yes, we were impressed. Neither of us are huge Coldplay fans and after seeing Kanye West a few months ago I thought that no one could even compare b/c that show was beyond wonderful. I guess we were both taken with Chris's earnest attempt to really entertain. Will and I were talking about how Radio Head and Cold Play both came out of England and made it big. When we saw Radio Head, Tom was full of disdain for the audience. He basically hated us for liking him .. now that is his right but we had paid alot of money and driven many hours to see him and that is what he is giving out? Then there is Cold Play who makes it even bigger than RadioHead and they have found a way not to take themselves to seriously and are so gracious. maybe that is why we have not had a new RadioHead album in awhile. I do understand old Tom's fate. There is a GREAT doc on RadioHead that just shows all the crap they have to put up with when all they ever wanted to do was make music but it is sort of like actors say. You get paid to do the press and you act for free. Any-who. Will and I could not remember Katie if it was this past weekend that you got to see Jordan or next weekend. Hey! The next time you two are in OK I know of a great little B&B with the coolest room! Will can set it up for you! Like a real tree house! WOW
