Netflix alert!

Will and I watched History of Violence last night. It was the best movie I have seen in a very long time. It has stayed with me and I have been thinking about it since we saw it. Has anyone seen it? I would strongly urge it as a Netflix option. Let me know who has seen it so we can chit chat about it ... I would love to hear what you had to say.

I rented it last week...pretty wild...I love Vigo M. anyway... he's so soulful...and it was so well written...and the characters and cast so "right on"...but I was a nervous wreck all through it!

Jesse and saw History of Violence in LA at the Arclight Theater while on our honeymoon. All in all a great moviegoing experience. They come out and talk to you about the movie beforehand there. I love Maria Bello and Viggo Mortenson and Ed Harris so I thought it was a perfect cast. I, too was a nervious wreck all through because of the imenence of the violence. As, I am not a fan of the violence in movies. However it was more restrained and served more of a purpose in this movie than in say V for Vendetta which seemed too violent just for kicks.

I know! There was this tention that just runs thru the movie that is right on. Will and I were talking last night about how on one level, the movie is very much about America and violence but it is also about relationships. How well do we ever know anyone and who are we before we meet one another. Vigo was so great and Maria Bello was so great! She is my new fav actress.

I really liked V is for Vendetta and did not really pick up on the violence aspect so much. Did you like it other than that? I loved the fact that it was poking at the current political situation. I wish that there were more of that done in an artful manner.

I liked V for Vendetta overall. In some cases I think the violence was overstated like in the scene in the metro at the end. However, in the scheme of things it was not horrible in its gratuitous violence compared to a lot of movies. I like Natalie Portman and I really liked her hair before her head was shaved and she has a nice shaped head so it was even good after her hair was shaved. I'm just saying as a curly headed person that she really knew how to treat her locks. Anyhow, I liked the politicalness of the movie but I thought there were quite a few nagging loose end details that were not tied up like the egg sandwhich that was fixed by V and then by the TV personality. A point was made to mention but the TV guy was not V's twin brother or anything.
