Hamas: Jihad's Gun or Freedom Fighter

I think Hamas gaining the majority of the Palestinian parliament raises a particular question to new heights: are they a terrorist organization or are they fighting for their land? Are the Palestinians majority terrorist or are do they want some liberties?
Hamas is in power.

I know it's been standard practice to say that they're terrorists for decades, but they've always contended that they were fighting for freedom.
