Pouring Salt on slugs

I am glad Slobo had the wherewithall to write such a fine declaration to the victors. I really didn't think they taught classics at Jenks. I thought maybe they took for granted the losing legacy of the Trojans. I always wondered why anyone would want to be named after the losers of a lost city.

I will admit that it is a better name than, say, the Phoniceans, or the Aegeans. But if it were names that won football games, then the Razorbacks would surely have beaten the USC Trojans.

The game was more like pouring salt on slugs. You want to keep them alive a little longer to pour more salt on them, hence the overtime.

BTW took the lead with 1 minute to go (23-20). But do not think for one second that BTW was ever losing, because they were not. They held the lead through the entire game (until overtime, but that's because strategy drove them to let Jenks have the ball first).

Jenks did (I will admit) almost score a touch down in the final minute. A kid missed the pass (through his fingers with nobody on him), and he will remember the catch that would have changed his life, forever. He will hav to move to Tulsa! Maybe even the north side!

The Jenk's kicker tied the game with a 44 yard field goal with seconds on the clock.

Then it was over time, and that always sucks. Anybody can win, even though the best team was BTW! Salt on slugs. Hot sauce in a honky's eye! Jenks and Union are going to wish BTW never moved up to 6A!

Will, Darling ... another thing I learned at Jenks was how to drop kick those who offend. A vicious wrestling match is in your future.
It is interesting to think about what all of our education left out. At Jenks they sort of left out anything that did not happen in the USA and anything about black people. Of course, when I went to Jenks there was not one black person there (no joke) so I guess they figured why bother? =)
IK ... did they really leave out the Spanish Inquisition at Casia? That is so awesome ... I can see them thinking, "what's the difference if we just trim a few events here and there?" =)
Apparently, they did not teach winning gracefully at Booker T but I can take it and yes ... I deserve it. We lost and BTW played a wonderful game. I congratulate them and hope they enjoyed their dumb luck.

whoa.........I think in my mind there is a "better man" issue here....Slobo, my hat's off to your sportsmanlike behavior.
Did I forget to teach my children kindness?

What's the Spanish Inquisition?

I think that you taught Will many, many wonderful things that he has forgotten or perhaps he was day dreaming about being a trucker on the day you were teaching him about good sportsmanship and he thought you were telling him to show good dorkmanship when your team wins and you win a bet. He has shown great dorksmanship!
I am pretty sure that the Spanish Inquisition is when Antonio Banderas, Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem started gaining popularity in the United States.

I'll have you know that I won the Sportsman of the Week Award 3 weeks running at New Life Ranch... a Fundamentalist Camp... and that's saying something!

The first week I was a good athlete on a bad team... I won for encouraging my team.

Second week I was on a winning team and I won for being sportsman like to the losers/Trojans.

Third week I meditated on a rock in the woods and made the all teams tie by sheer mind over matter techniques!

After my third award, I gloated all the way home!
