It was the best of times, it was the worst of times
As all of us in the midwest know we got a real thumpin' from nature over the weekend. To borrow from Dickins it really was the best of times and the worst of times. For example, here are the contents of our kitchen before the storm hit:

and after the storm hit?

clearly an improvement ...
No doubt that it was the best of times for Will and I as the Sooners slayed Nebraska to become the Big 12 Champions!! But on the other hand I would avoid any mention of Gators to Jesse for the upcoming year.
Getting out of our house proved to be trying: (but not as trying as getting this photo to post the right way)

but once we were out it got in to that better category again ...

How did everyone else fair ... and what was it like up yonder where you are IK?

I do hope that we can have a command performance of the ring story at Christmas!
Sweet Lord! you had the weekend I would have loved to have if I were not here in the sticks freezing!! But then that may mean that we would have to switch places and you would have to be here and THAT is something I would not wish upon anyone ... especially not you. =)
Was the Leibowitz exhibit the one that was of more of a personal nature? I think I read about it in the Times THAT I STOLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
side note: I have decided that one day I shall make amends to the Times and send a rather large check
daily amends are encouraged :).....but, gee, you have no other vices (except Mungie)....and I believe that a person with no vices is not really ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hahahahahahahha.......not really.....
My weekend was spent the way I usually treat weekends that include piles of snow and ice-covered streets: I was out in it all weekend...non-stop. I fell in the driveway and am black--no blue yet--on my backside. It's so sad....what was an unlovely large white backside is now a large black backside and I am in utter pain.So much for ignoring the conditions.
I should have spent the weekend in front of the fire, like an old lady my age would normally do.
you know what Sue? you are right! My underpayment for the Times (ok, ok and for the Wall Street Journal oh! and sometimes USA Today ... but never for the worst paper in the world the Tulsa World) is my vice ... one I will wear with pride and cling too. And it does give me a slight rush ... =)
I am very sorry that you fell ... but you should wear it with pride. Your bruise is a badge of honor that proves that nothing can slow you down! I do think that you should come up with another story for how you got it. Maybe something that includes Howards End, Howard, Paul Newman and Joey, Joey, Joey? Something that makes you the hero? I like it! Speaking of Paul Newman ... is he back in the fold?
We were going through the sleds. We first bought a storage bin at Walmart (Everyone was out of sleds, or the trucks couldn't make the delivery). I broke the storage bin on my first try. Slobo got a good run out of it.
But the place was like a sled graveyard. We ended up on this Pallet with a plastic sheet under it (the one on which Slobo is sitting).
I wanted to mention that the ring looks very nice. But the photo kinda looks like it was taken in a hostage situation. It's the type of photo you only see on Aljazeera. Is that part of the story?
Paul is back in the fold, living at Oxford House. Have not seen him...but the was a pregnancy scare that I'll tell you about.
