Proof
I know we talked about the movie Proof a while back and I just wanted to throw my two cents in. I thought it was excellent. Quite depressing I guess, but I thought Gwynth Paltrow did a fabulous job. Is a contender this year for an Oscar or was it last year? I think she should be nominated and maybe win. An, I love Hope Davis too.

really? if you go back and find the discussion on the film you will find that you are the lone defender of the film but I think that it is great that we have every opinion represented here. She did get a golden globe nod I think.
I liked her as Estella in Great Expectations and in The Talented Mr. Ripley. I would like to see her get back to roles like those. But I understand that actors are always trying to go against type ...
Proof was such an emotional movie for me. Don't know why.....maybe b/c she was so restained.....and Anthony Hopkins was so strong....anyway....I love her, love her, love her.....but she'll always be Emma to me....and also Violet in Shakespeare in Love....let's hear it for her gushy, romantic roles.....actually also liked her as a stewardess :)
I think I did like it because it was her going against type. I mean she had an American accent which doesn't happen very often. I thought she was awesome. Very powerful. I was very moved by the movie.
I have been putting off renting this b/c I heard so much about it and I knew it was going to be a downer. I knew I needed to be in the right frame of mind for it and that finally happened this weekend when I was having an I can do whatever I want b/c my boys are gone weekend.
But I pretty much love her in anything. I guess.
so, that's what you did this weekend? I waited for you to call or come swimming or something.....
