I like what you had to say about the film, Sue, and it made me think even more about it. I like the idea that Ennis Del Mar was not gay but he did fall in love. Perhaps there was a mixture of rebellion and hunger for his father that went in to his love for Jack. Jack was clearly gay but for Ennis it was always about Jack. I think that the two could have been very happy in today's world and the sadness was the intolerance for homosexuals in the 60's ...
